Welcome to Kindergarten!

Welcome to Kindergarten! We are thrilled to have you on board this year, and we’re looking forward to getting to know you and your child. This blog will be our main venue to communicate with our KG community. Every Sunday at 3pm we post our weekly newsletter with information about our curriculum, activities, and other relevant information, so please make sure you take some time to read it!

Our grade level calendar is constantly being updated with important dates.

Allow me to introduce the members of our Kindergarten team:

Ana Chavez (Ms. Ana) - KGC Teacher
Farrah Hamalawi (Ms. Farrah) - KGC Teacher aide
Noah Balazs (Mr. Balazs) - KGB Teacher
Dalia Zaher (Ms. Dalia) - KGB Teacher aide
Paola Sadek (Ms. Paola) - KGS Teacher
Menna Kamel (Ms. Menna) - KGS Teacher aide

This is what your child will need on the first day of school, all these items will need to be labeled with your child’s name:
  • Change of clothes to keep in the classrooms
  • Water bottle
  • Two separate bags or lunchboxes, one for snack and one for lunch
  • A sweater

Important Back To School information has been shared with you all in this Back To School letter posted in our CAC website, we invite you to read it to be better prepared for the beginning of our school year. You will find information about schedules for our first two days of school, and much more.

Library!

Welcome back from the ES library. We hope you did a lot of reading this summer and we can't wait to hear about it! In fact, stop by the library outside of your class time and tell us what you read and we'll give you a little surprise to celebrate. And don't forget: ALL summer checkouts are due back on August 16.

All elementary students need to have a cloth bag with their name on it to transport their library materials to and from school. The school's new and improved Spirit Store has bags for sale, but you can use any CLOTH bag as long as it is large enough for books and is labeled clearly with your name. Bring it with you to school on the days your class is scheduled for check out. The library has some bags that we can lend on a temporary basis, but everyone should have their very own. We suggest you keep it far away from your swim bag!

Hope you have a year full of reading fun!

Stay tuned for our next newsletter on Sunday, August 20th with more specific information about class schedules, beginning of the year expectations and swimming for KG.

Thank you for taking the time to read our blog and, feel free to email us if you have any questions. Once again, welcome to Kindergarten!

  1. Looking forward to a wonderful year! Would be great if we can have the class schedules include the rows and time slots for the snack, lunch, and recess times please. I only checked KGS. Thanks.
